Armourstone Quality Analysis for Coastal Construction in Chabahar, Southeast Iran

Natural stones (armourstones) of varying sizes and qualities are frequently used to construct breakwaters protect coastal engineering structures from wave actions for economic reasons. Time-related armourstone deterioration in the form abrasion disintegration may result structural damage. Therefore, it is necessary investigate performance quality armourstones, which should be robust long-lasting. The study aimed examine two distinct types rocks three as armourstones Chabahar region compare results observed field performance. This illustrate why crucial characterise thoroughly before deciding ones use a particular project evaluate how well current classification techniques account that have complex geological compositions. physical mechanical properties rock were evaluated through both on-site observation laboratory testing. indicated class breakwater had wide range suitability ratings. It was discovered sedimentary best water absorption porosity properties. In addition, age positive factor, rate destruction decreases with age. Component particle size can also play role lithology, significant factor rock’s durability. Also, findings demonstrated marine organisms component an important stability these structures, even though mass less qualified construction per international standards. According findings, made lumachel boulders, or alternatively sandstone will last longest.
